To commemorate the 154th anniversary of the Battle of Shepherdstown, the Shepherdstown Battlefield Preservation Association (SBPA) will hold a tour of the site of the 1862 battle. The tour, led by a Civil War historian, will include wading the Potomac River at Boteler’s Ford (optional), a hike through the historic Cement Mill property, and a hike of about a mile through the battlefield. Following the tour will be a BBQ serving hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, beer, wine, and soft drinks. SBPA asks for a donation of $30 for the tour and BBQ. There are a limited number of spaces on the tour and we suggest that you book early. To book and receive instructions about the tour please visit the Shepherdstown Battlefield Preservation Association website and click on “SBPA Store” at the top of the home page (or click the Tickets button, above). Tour takes place rain or shine.
