Trees at Jefferson Memorial Park
Forrest Ave
Charles Town
Our September meeting will be a chance for us to talk and learn about trees. Ellen May, a volunteer on the committee of citizens who advise Charles Town officials on the planting and care of the park’s trees, will lead the discussion. (The committee held a hands-on “tree pruning workshop” in the spring and will repeat it next year!)
Ellen plans to take members on a short walk about the park to see the trees and talk about their care. Autumn is great time to plant a new tree and enjoy it in the spring. We hope our members enjoy this presentation, rain or shine.
9:00am: Meet at the pavilion near the corner of Forrest Avenue and Morison Street. Please bring a chair and your beverage. Members are invited to bring fruit or packaged snacks to share.
9:30am: Greetings/introductions and tour
NOTE: Rain or shine.
Plant and Garden Items Exchange: By the pavilion before the meeting.
Parking: On-street parking and parking at the park’s swimming pool lot.
