Winter Sowing and Seed Swap with Joyce Morningstar of Star Eagle Gardens, Berkeley Springs
Our last meeting of the year! Note: We meet the second Saturday of this month, instead of our usual third Saturday meeting date.
Winter Sowing is a fun way to begin gardening in February. Using plastic jugs as mini greenhouses outside, you can start many cold weather crops, perennials, and native plants to get a jump start on the season. Joyce will bring sample seeds. Easy and Fun!
Joyce Morningstar Barron has been an organic gardener for over 45 years. She is the co-owner of Star Eagle Gardens, a two-acre sustainable veggie, herb, and flower garden with orchard trees and berries. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, and has been a bead and wire jewelry artist for most of her life. Currently her latest passion is mosaics, creating a 10′ x 10′ face on the side of her home with 1″ ceramic tiles. Joyce is also a Gentle Yoga teacher and has been practicing since the 1970s.
